Laser Hair Removal
For many men and women, unwanted hair can be a nightmare. Getting rid of it can be very time consuming and painful. Until now the only options for removing unwanted hair were smelly hair removal creams, sharp razors, wax or painful electrolysis needles. An advanced approach to beautiful skin provides the ultimate solution. Now, men and women alike will be pleased with the results made possible by the Laser Hair Removal process.
What is the Laser Hair Removal process?
Laser Hair Removal uses a low-energy laser like light to gently remove unwanted hair, putting an end to routine shaving and waxing. This advanced technology transcends the older, painful hair removal treatments to deliver long-lasting results. Because the laser treats more than one hair at a time, it is possible to treat larger areas such as the back, shoulders, arms, legs and face. Laser Hair Removal treatments leave your skin looking and feeling smoother and silkier. Best of all, Laser Hair Removal treatments are a safe, fast, gentle, and effective alternative method for hair removal.
What are the benefits of Laser Hair Removal?
• Larger areas may be treated using laser than with electrolysis, waxing or tweezing.
• It combines the speed of shaving with the lasting results promised by electrolysis.
• Laser is effective on almost any area of the body where smoother, younger, hair-free skin is desired.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments you may require for permanent results depends on the area you wish to have treated, the hair density and your hair’s growth cycle. Your hair grows in cycles and many factors influence it’s growth. Age, ethnicity, weight, hormones, diet, medication and metabolism all play a part in your hair’s location, thickness and resilience.
The Laser Hair Removal slows the growing capacity of follicles in the growth cycle at the time of the treatment. Since some hair follicles may enter their growth cycle after your treatment, multiple treatments may be required to deliver permanent results. Treatment results will vary from patient to patient depending on skin and hair color. However the average person usually requires around six to eight treatments to achieve permanent results.
How is Laser Hair Removal different from electrolysis?
Electrolysis is a much slower process. With electrolysis a needle is actually inserted into each hair follicle, one at a time. Once inserted, an electric shock burns the follicle to stop hair growth. Laser Hair Removal uses light to scan the treatment area and within seconds all of the hairs in the light beam are treated. Most patients who have had both procedures say that Laser Hair Removal is less painful, faster and more convenient.
What are the treatments like?
Quick and Easy! The treatment area is cleaned and a cool gel is applied. Next, a wand-like handpiece is applied to your skin. The handpiece emits the laser light that disables the hair follicles. In a fraction of a second, all of the treated hair follicles are disabled. Most people perceive the light as a gentle “snapping” sensation. Once this is completed, the gel is removed from your skin, and you’re ready to go.
Following Treatment
After your treatment, you can return to your normal activities immediately. The use of sun screen is recommended on any treated areas exposed to the sun. You must not tan the treated area for three weeks after treatment. Avoid swimming pools and hot tubs for the first 48 hours after treatment.

IPL Photo Rejuvenation (Photo Facial)
Over time, the first effects of the sun, wind, time and hormones begin to appear. Our skin is our body's largest organ but maintaining it's youthful, vibrant, appearance doesn't have to be a difficult process any longer.
Our Skin
Our skin is made up of two layers. The epidermis, or outer layer, constantly produces new skin cells to replace the ever-flaking dead skin cells. It is our body's protection from the environment. The dermis, or inner layer, contains nerve endings, oil and sweat glands, blood vessels and also the collagen and elastin which support and maintain your skin's shape.
The Aging Process
The first signs of aging are when fine lines begin to form around the eyes and lips. Then the collagen and elastin begins to wear out and deeper lines and grooves form in our brow, next to the nose and down to the corners of our mouths. Surface irregularities such as pigment discolorations and acne scarring may also occur.
Many patients wish that there were a safe, easy and quick way to get rid of their red complexion, fine wrinkles, irregular pigmentation and large pores. Fortunately, advanced technologies enable us to treat these skin imperfections safely, easily and effectively with very little, if any, downtime.
IPL Photo Rejuvenation
IPL Photo Rejuvenation was designed to combat skin damage in a softer, gentler way. Advanced, intense, pulsed light and fluorescent pulsed light systems are the latest innovations in non-ablative cosmetic skin rejuvenation. Advanced light systems are used to restore a more youthful appearance to your skin by efficiently treating redness, flushing, pigmentary problems, scars and wrinkles; to provide you with smoother, healthier, younger-looking skin.
Will this improve rosacea?
Yes. Patients with rosacea will see a progressive reduction in redness with every treatment. The redness and flushing caused by rosacea may be reduced up to 90%.
How dose it work?
IPL Photo Rejuvenation systems deliver pulses of intense light, through very specific filters, to the skin. Once delivered, the targeted tissue absorbs the light's energy. There will be a series of five to eight treatments depending on the area and the condition of the skin. Treatments take between 15 and 30 minutes.
What are some of the major benefits of IPL Photo Rejuvenation?
• No down time
• Healthier-looking skin
• Smoother skin
• Reduced pore size up to 80%
• More even skin tone
• Reduced redness and flushing up to 90%
• Reduced wrinkle size up to 80%
What are treatment like?
Some patients may experience a mild discomfort during the treatment. Those with sensitive skin can choose to have a topical anesthesia applied prior to the procedure. After treatment, the pain is minimal to nonexistent. The skin may appear flushed, brown spots may be darker and tiny veins may be more visible. This will decrease over the next several hours. You may resume normal activities immediately.
What results can I expect to get form IPL Photo Rejuvenation?
After each session, you will experience some improvement in skin tone and texture. There will be a decrease in the overall redness and flushing. Sunspots will fade; pore sizes will shrink. Fine lines and wrinkles will gradually decrease in size as the new collagen forms beneath the skin. These improvements will continue to increase with each treatment.
Who is the best candidate for IPL Photo Rejuvenation treatments?
The best candidates have red, flushed faces, sun-damaged skin, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles or enlarged pores.

Vein Therapy
Spider Veins, or telangiectasias, are those small red, blue and purple blood vessels that appear most frequently on the face and thighs. Varicose Veins are usually larger than 1/4 inch in diameter and may appear raised with a bluish color. They may also be related to more serious vein disorders and require a careful evaluation by your doctor prior to treatment.
Today’s new lasers provide safe and effective non-surgical treatment options for the removal of spider and varicose veins. New, advanced IPL treatments allow your technician to deliver a precise dosage of energy to each vein. During your treatment, light energy is delivered through a special IPL hand piece to the targeted vein. The light energy is absorbed by the blood vessels, but no by the surrounding tissue. This heat absorption causes a coagulation of the blood vessel, which is subsequently absorbed by your body.
Will IPL vein therapy work in my veins?
Prior to treatment your technician will review your medical history to determine how long you have had a problem with your veins and the severity of the problem. Your technician needs to determine your skin type and if there has been any prior surgery or treatment on your veins. Your technician may test to determine if there are any underlying venous problems. If there are, further testing may be advised before lPL vein therapy is attempted.
What are the treatments like?
First, your technician identifies the veins to be treated. Your technician then proceeds to deliver pulses light energy along the length of the vessel, larger veins first. The light energy causes the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessels, which are then absorbed by your body. Most IPL vein therapy patients report little discomfort. Some experience a mild burning sensation when the IPL is pulsed.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required varies with the size and depth of each vein. For the maximum long-term resolution, multiple treatments may be necessary. However, if new veins appear, additional treatments are required. Treatments may be in three to four week intervals.
What is recovery like?
Following your treatment, you may be asked to wear support hose or special heavy duty stockings to help keep pressure on the veins. This will help keep the treated veins closed. Bruises around the treated areas usually disappear after the first week. A tan or brownish pigment may persist for a few weeks when larger veins are involved. While each vein may require several pulses from the lPL, most will disappear in two to six weeks. Keys to success with IPL leg vein therapy include the avoidance of hot baths and strenuous exercise, and may include the short-term use of compression stockings.
Patients are generally encouraged to resume most normal activities immediately. The technician may ask that you refrain from vigorous activities for the first two days. Be patient your final results may not be apparent for several months.

Laser Tattoo Removal
“What seemed like a great idea at 20 now seems like a huge mistake at 30.”
“Getting a tattoo seemed like a great idea when I was a university student, but now that I am a business professional it just doesn’t fit in at all with my image and I am worried that it will hurt my corporate career.”
Dose this sound like you? Don’t worry! Thanks to advances in state-of-the-art technology, there is now a very safe and effective treatment for your problem.
How does the laser tattoo removal work?
The laser delivers very high intensity light into the treated area. The tattoo inks and pigments then selectively absorb the laser light without destroying the normal surrounding skin tissue in the process. The tattoo is dissolved into smaller ink particles that are harmlessly removed by the body's immune system in the weeks following treatment.
How many treatments will it require?
Removing a professionally applied tattoo is usually a fading process that requires a series of treatments spaced approximately 4-8 weeks apart. Professional tattoos usually require 6-12 treatments for complete clearing. The black colored inks usually responds quicker then the bright colored inks because they absorb the laser light better. The depth, color and amount of ink, as well as the location of the tattoo on your body are all determining factors in how long and how quick the technician will be able to remove your tattoo. Most amateur or otherwise known as "street tattoos" are removed in only 6 treatments scheduled about 4-8 weeks apart.
Does this process cause scarring?
Very rarely have any scars been seen while utilizing this process. Providing state-of-the-art technology helps ensure patients that the risk of scarring is dramatically reduced. There have been occasions where some lighter or darker colored pigment persists from the tattoo site, but normally after the course of treatments is complete, the treated area is usually indistinguishable from normal surrounding skin. The skin in the treatment area may have a little discoloration but this is usually never permanent and the skin is back its natural color within 6 months after treatments are complete. Occasionally there might be some blistering or scabbing in the treatment area that may last up to 12 days.
Will my tattoo be removed completely?
In most cases tattoos can be completely removed. Though there are many factors involved in completely removing unwanted tattoos. Some tattoos disappear within only 3 treatments, as well as in some cases some tattoos requiring 12 or more treatments for complete removal. Taking care of the treated area is the most important factor in removing a tattoo without a scar. It can be said that the better you take care of the area treated the better the results.
Is the process painful?
Most or our patients say that the treatment feels like being snapped by a rubber band. A topical numbing cream may be applied to the treated area 45 minutes prior to treatment.
What about lightening an existing tattoo?
Many tattoo artists encourage customers to receive a minimum number of laser treatments to lighten an existing tattoo before covering it with a new one. This will dramatically reduce any chance of the old tattoo appearing through the new one. In most cases, a minimum of 2-3 treatments is all that's required in lightening an existing tattoo.
What are common side effects of the treatment?
Some patients experience redness, swelling, tenderness, crusting, sunburn sensation, or itching immediately following treatment.
IPL Acne Treatment
How does IPL Acne Treatment Work?
The Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) system releases light that is emitted in a series of short pulses. The light destroys the bacteria that live in the skin and cause acne and targets the overactive sebaceous glands that cause outbreaks of pustules. This targeted heating deep in the skin causes shrinkage of the inflamed sebaceous glands and helps to prevent over-production of excess sebum.
How is the treatment carried out?
You will be asked to put on goggles to protect your eyes. A layer of chilled gel is applied to the area to cool the skin and guide the light. The light applicator is placed onto the skin and a short pulse of light is released. The applicator is then moved to the next area and the process is repeated until the whole face is treated. Then the chilled gel is removed and the area is moisturized. Each pulse of light treats a large area of skin, so the duration of the treatment is short.
Am I suitable for this treatment?
Almost everyone can be treated, apart from tanned individuals and pregnant women or people taking acne treatment medications. If you are taking any acne medication such as Accutane or Retin-A you should stop taking them at least 6 months before starting the treatment.
How Does the Treatment Feel?
The light energy is absorbed by the skin, and heats it up very quickly, making the treated area feel very warm. Most patients describe the discomfort as minimal and acceptable.
What should I expect after the treatment?
Redness and a slight warming sensation are normal after treatment. The skin is usually back to normal in about 1 to 2 hours after treatment. It will be necessary to avoid sun exposure or use a high protection sunscreen for 2 weeks after the treatment.
What are the side effects?
The treated area can become quite red immediately after treatment. However, most patients experience no side effects and the redness usually disappears within 2 hours. Very rarely the skin may become lighter or darker, or smalls blister may form, these side effects may last for a few months. There are no permanent side effects from this treatment.
How long does each treatment take?
A typical treatment session will be in the region of 30 minutes.
How many treatments are necessary?
The number of treatments necessary varies from person to person, but typically 6 to 10 IPL treatments about 1 week apart will result in significant improvement, depending on the severity of the condition. Once the acne has completely cleared up, a treatment is required every 4-6 weeks to maintain the results.

IPL Scar and Stretch Mark Treatment
How dose it work?
IPL technology is effective in treating a wide variety of scars and stretch marks. IPL stimulates the skin under the scar or stretch mark and causes the fibroblasts in the skin to begin to divide again. It also dramatically increases collagen production in the area. This thickens the skin under the scar or stretch mark until it closely resembles the surrounding normal skin.
Dose IPL really work?
Recent medical studies have demonstrated that IPL treatments dramatically increase the production of collagen and elastin. This noticeably improves the appearance of scars and stretch marks. Additional studies also show that the appearance of stretch marks and acne scars continues to improve for a period of up to 6 months after all the treatments are complete. Even those patients that showed very little improvement at first, showed up to a 50% improvement at their 6 month checkup.
What should you expect after the treatment is complete?
Results vary from person to person and may not be immediate. IPL scar and stretch mark treatment is generally progressive and may require multiple treatments. Usually you will need at least 4 treatments to see noticeable results. Most patients that have undergone IPL scar and stretch mark treatment notice an improvement of 50-75% after all the treatments are complete.
Microdermabrasion
If you are unhappy with age spots, acne scars, stretch marks, fine wrinkles or flaking skin, you might want to consider Microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion has been used in Europe for years. Now this exciting procedure is the number two non-surgical cosmetic procedure in the United States. It is helping men and women everywhere experience remarkable improvements in skin texture regardless of skin color.
What is treatment like?
Microdermabrasion treatments are not aggressive; they are slow and progressive, and best of all, they work. Most patients find Microdermabrasion treatments to be quite relaxing. The treatment is like a "superficial skin polishing" using micro-crystals or diamonds. In as little as thirty minutes, this gentle, abrasive technique efficiently produces satisfying results. Treatments are applied through a course of weekly or bi-weekly sessions, ranging from one to six weeks.
Does Microdermabrasion hurt?
Microdermabrasion does not hurt although it may sting a little around the eye area. Your skin may feel very warm a few hours after treatment.
Is Microdermabrasion safe?
Yes. Microdermabrasion is non-invasive. The procedure only removes the outermost layer of the skin cells to reveal the fresher, younger cells beneath. Regardless of your skin's condition, fine lines and age spots may be erased and acne scars and stretch marks will become less obvious. Depending on the intensity settings, about three to ten microns of the skin will be removed during each treatment session.
How soon will I see results?
Usually after your first treatment your skin will immediately have a fresh glow. It will look healthier and feel smoother and softer. Your improvement will continue throughout your treatment program.
What is recovery after treatment like?
There is no recovery period, no discomfort and you can resume normal activities immediately.
What is post-treatment maintenance like?
Microdermabrasion can make your skin more sensitive to the sun so you want to make sure to wear a sunscreen of SPF 20 or higher when out in the sun. Wearing sunscreen on a daily basis will also help to prolong the results of Microdermabrasion. A maintenance treatment is required every four to six weeks to maintain the results.
